A team is required to assist as the gunite, concrete mix is applied via a pressure hose. Combined with compressed air, the mixture is shot directly onto the forms and rebar through a nozzle. Around the top of the pond, a form is created. And a smoother concrete finish is applied overtop the rougher gunite. This is called parging. The concrete is also applied to the walls and bottom, resulting in a super-smooth finish. Here we see two concrete piers that have recently been poured.
